The Boys and Girls Club of Whitecourt and District originated in January 2004 as a group of motivated community volunteers interested in establishing a Boys and Girls Club (originally organized as Whitecourt and District Youth Initiative). In March 2021, BGC Canada (formerly Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada) made the move to name all Clubs across the country ‘BGC’ in an effort to make our name more inclusive. We recognize that not everyone may identify as a boy or as a girl, and we want to ensure that our space is as inclusive as possible. BGC Whitecourt and District is an organization dedicated to providing a safe place for all children and youth while offering innovative programs for everyone’s ability.
